I am really sorry guys, I logged into my email account after returning from a week in hospital on Friday 27th November to find so many emails asking where I was………
I didn’t want to send out a huge email explaining why I had to go into hospital, but little did I think that so many of you guys would miss me
I want to thank you all for your concern…..
I have been ordered by the surgeon that I have to take it easy for at least 8 weeks, I can’t drive or do any heavy duties either, I have to wear a neck brace which is driving me insane…so my time online will be very limited.
I had suffered for so many years with neck, migraines and back pain, for the last 18 months I was in total agony, my pain threshold is pretty high, but these past months have been unbearable.
I went in for a C5-C6 Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion, my surgeon took out the disc between the bones c5 – c6 in my neck and replaced it with a cage, then he fused c5 – c6 bones together, sounds really painful but I was on another planet. The pain in my arm has diminished and I feel great in comparison.
Ok enough about me
Things are going great and I will be back up to speed soon.
Take Care
ThanksĀ xxxxx
Tara

I am on day 5 following fusion of C 4/5 5/6 6/7 and I no longer feel like I was hit by an 18-wheeler. Did you have to wear a hard cervical collar after surgery? Any hints on helpful positions in which to try to sleep? I am so tired I am ready to drop. How long did you wear the collar. Was there a point where you only had to wear it during the day and could take it off at night? Thanks for any info,

Hiya, I have to wear my hard collar for 6 weeks 24/7, showers an all, it is driving me insane, no wonder you see dogs trying to bury their heads when they wear one, it is the most uncomfortable thing I have ever had to wear, It comes off early next year, which will be amazing.
The operation went brilliant, a lot better than I had expected and the results are unreal. Sleeping yep is pretty hard, I take pain killers just before I go to bed, but still I don’t sleep through the night.
Sorry I can’t help more

I have just had my collar taken off after 7 weeks, my neck aches and my migraines are still here, but the pain in my arm seems to have gone, I had to wear my collar 24/7 sleep was a nightmare, even now I wake several times through the night, just have to get on with it.
